As the gateway to Devon you will always find something of interest in Honiton and its surrounding area. With this unique holiday destination being within easy reach of both of the National Parks - Dartmoor and Exmoor - along with easy access to one of England’s most stunning coastlines, Honiton is an excellent base for people wishing to visit the West Country.

Honiton is a pleasant residential and market town with a population in excess of 13,000. It is the shopping centre for a large part of East Devon and a place with good schools, several churches and opportunities for sport and recreation. Originally known for the serge that was manufactured here, Honiton became famous for its lace, the excellence of which became known the world over. Today lace is still made on a small scale as a recreation but the town now has other varied light industries.

Britain's first ever olive grove was planted in Devon in 2006. The trees can be found along the banks of the River Otter at Otter Farm, near Honiton.
