    Our Toddler Tuesday sessions run every Tuesday throughout the school term, allowing children between the ages of 2-4 to explore the underwater world.

    Sessions change weekly, focusing on different parts of the aquarium – including exciting activities such as stories, arts and crafts, puppet shows, treasure hunts and, on special occasions, even meeting our friendly aquarium mermaid, Marina!

    Each week we’ll be looking at a different sea theme beginning with a letter of the alphabet.

    THE LOST CITY OF Z EXHIBITION - Torquay Museum

    Date: 25 October 2017 - 28 April 2018

    For the first time a substantial exhibition, 'The Lost City of Z' on the legendary Torquay-born explorer, Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett, will chart his incredible search for The Lost City of Z in the Amazon Jungle, displaying fascinating items from the Museum’s archive - many for the first time.

    Also on display will be props from the recently released and critically acclaimed Hollywood Film, The Lost City of Z, which has brought Col. Fawcett’s tragic story to a larger audience. The Museum was involved with the production of the film and some of the props were based on archive items housed from the Museum. This exhibition has been made possible by a Heritage Lottery Fund Sharing Heritage grant to create an exhibition.

    There will be a series of explorer related talks and events to accompany the exhibition, as well as film screenings of 'The Lost City of Z' on Friday 6th October 2017, 6pm and Saturday 13th January 2018, 2pm.

    Highway Rat Activity Trail at Haldon Forest - Haldon Forest Park

    The Highway Rat is the latest Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book to be brought to life on our forest trails.

    Follow the panels, complete activities and interact with the forest as you head on a journey with The Highway Rat and all the characters from the story!

    It is aimed at younger children, but the whole family can enjoy completing activities and spotting characters.

    You can find the trail at the start of the discovery trail and it is about 1.5 miles in length.

    Join the Highway Rat on his journey through the forest with the Highway Rat Activity Pack!

    The kit contains an activity leaflet plus an extra activity sheet, a Highway Rat mask, stickers of the Highway Rat characters, a pencil and a crayon. Buy your activity pack from the rangers office for just £3.

    Come and marvel at the remarkable variety and colour of these beautiful, spring flowering plants. This National Show has over 60 classes covering all types of Rhododendrons, as well as trade and advice stands plus magnificent displays of Magnolias and Camellias too. Past competitors have included Exbury Gardens, Caerhays Castle, The Savile Garden, Trewithin, Marwood Hill and several National Trust properties in the South West including Glendurgan and Trelissick. The competitions are entirely free to enter and open to anyone who wishes to exhibit. Entry forms are available direct from RHS Competitions Manager, Georgina Barter at: georginabarter@rhs.org.uk.

    Normal garden admission and free for RHS Members.

    Join us for an exclusive opportunity to eat cake with the apes at Paignton Zoo!

    Learn about our primates with the chance to quiz keepers about what really makes apes tick! Enjoy presentations and a guided tour of the orang-utan, gorilla and gibbon enclosures. All of this plus a delicious slice of cake!

    This fundraising event is in support of our vital animal conservation work which aims to make a significant and lasting contribution to the continued survival of apes and their habitats. All proceeds will go towards our conservation work as we are a registered charity.

    Including classic pieces by Reginald Heath (London River), & The march, Cross of Honour (William Rimmer) they also do some popular songs like,  Hard Day's Night (Lennon/McCartney) & Hello Dolly (Jerry Herman).

    For the first time a substantial exhibition, 'The Lost City of Z' on the legendary Torquay-born explorer, Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett, will chart his incredible search for The Lost City of Z in the Amazon Jungle, displaying fascinating items from the Museum’s archive - many for the first time.

    Also on display will be props from the recently released and critically acclaimed Hollywood Film, The Lost City of Z, which has brought Col. Fawcett’s tragic story to a larger audience. The Museum was involved with the production of the film and some of the props were based on archive items housed from the Museum. This exhibition has been made possible by a Heritage Lottery Fund Sharing Heritage grant to create an exhibition.

    There will be a series of explorer related talks and events to accompany the exhibition, as well as film screenings of 'The Lost City of Z' on Friday 6th October 2017, 6pm and Saturday 13th January 2018, 2pm.

    The Highway Rat is the latest Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book to be brought to life on our forest trails.

    Follow the panels, complete activities and interact with the forest as you head on a journey with The Highway Rat and all the characters from the story!

    It is aimed at younger children, but the whole family can enjoy completing activities and spotting characters.

    You can find the trail at the start of the discovery trail and it is about 1.5 miles in length.

    Toddler Tuesdays - National Marine Aquarium

    Our Toddler Tuesday sessions run every Tuesday throughout the school term, allowing children between the ages of 2-4 to explore the underwater world.

    Sessions change weekly, focusing on different parts of the aquarium – including exciting activities such as stories, arts and crafts, puppet shows, treasure hunts and, on special occasions, even meeting our friendly aquarium mermaid, Marina!

    Each week we’ll be looking at a different sea theme beginning with a letter of the alphabet.
