Bellever Forest, Dartmoor

Bellever Forest, Dartmoor Picture 1

Whether you are looking for an exhilarating walk or a gentle meander through the forest, Bellever can cater for every ability. Choose from one of the waymarked trails or join the historic bridleway, The Lich Way.

Discover numerous archaeological sites as you explore and Bellever has a fascinating range of wildlife, including Dartmoor Ponies.

The Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust is a registered charity dedicated to the preservation of the Dartmoor pony breed. Their Pedigree and approved Heritage Dartmoor Ponies graze the forest, helping to keep the vegetation down and create diverse grassland areas for wildlife. It is important to keep all gates shut in order to prevent cross-breeding with ponies from the surrounding area. Please do not feed the ponies.

Cars and motorbikes pay £1 for up to two hours and £2 for over two hours.  There is a flat rate for minibuses of £4.
