With more animals than anyone else in the South West, you're in for a really wild time at Paignton Zoo!

Come in and get close to over 2,500 incredible creatures at one of the South West's most exciting visitor attractions.

See them all - giraffes, lions, gorillas, cheetahs and thrilling crocodiles, plus our cheeky meerkats, colourful snakes and amazing monkeys. There are also indoor and outdoor play areas, the Jungle Express train and uniquely, six habitats that mimic the animals' natural environment.

But, you'd better leave a whole day. You'll need it to explore our big wild world!

Global Tiger Day - Monday 29 July 2019

Global Tiger Day is celebrated on Monday 29th July 2019 - a perfect opportunity to join us in helping raise awareness for the largest of all big cats and our beautiful Sumatran tigers here at the zoo.

On the day there will be:

  • Enrichment for our Sumatran tigers at the Big Cat talk at 12:15pm.
  • An extra talk for guests at 3:30pm at the tiger exhibit
  • Stripey-themed treats in the Island Restaurant (extra charge applies)
  • Face painting (extra charge applies)

World Lion Day - Saturday 10 August 2019

World Lion Day on Saturday 10th August gives our guests the chance to join in some roarsome activites at the Zoo, to help celebrate our pride of Endangered Asiatic lions.


World Orang-utan Day - Monday 19 August 2019

Orang-utans, also known as 'people of the forest', are amongst the world's most endangered apes.

Visit Paignton Zoo on World Orang-utan Day this August to learn more about these incredible primates and how together we can help to ensure a future for this species.
