Peking to Paris 2016

Peking to Paris 2016 Picture 1

Back in 1907 five pioneer motorists took part in the world’s first international motor rally from Peking to Paris.

Having spent the last year rebuilding a 1938 Ford 62, on the 12th June this year, Nigel Lee owner of World of Country Life, Exmouth and Richard Turner owner of St David’s Vetinary Centre will begin their journey as part of The 6th Peking to Paris Motor Challenge. From the Great Wall, Beijing, they will travel 8510 miles across 12 countries over 35 days to reach Paris on the 17th July.

120 classic cars will be taking part, however they are the only competitors from Devon!

It’s going to be a gruelling journey - the furthest distance you can travel on land between two capital cities. There will undoubtedly be highs and lows but there’re sure to be plenty of humourous stories too! They will be posting images and a blog on their website  or follow them on Facebook 'Peking to Paris Nigel & Richard' - follow their story and you won’t miss a thing!

The journey will not just be for fun - there is a serious side too. The pair have chosen to raise funds for Force Cancer Charity and you can help by donating via their website www.pekingparis2016.org
